Natural Medicine has been a passion of mine from early on. Due to health complications that I was born with I spent the first 5 years of my life in & out of hospitals, often in the supervision and care of nurses and doctors. Consequently, I knew at an early age that I wanted to help others with their health.

At age 15, I trained and certified as a Nurses Assistant. Turning 16 allowed me a position at the local hospital/nursing home, but it wasn't long until the medical paradigm did not fully resonate with me. My mother impressed me with her knowledge of uses for herbs and enticed me to learn more. She taught me that there were other ways to help people with their health and introduced me to Natural Medicine. We attended classes together and soon trained in Iridology and Therapeutic Nutrition. After high school I trained and certified as a Reiki Master and received deeper insight about energy and directing it towards specific goals. Three months later, I was accepted at Utah College of Massage Therapy. I was trained in a variety of modalities of bodywork and energy medicine, resulting in National Licensing as a Massage Therapist. This new skill set allowed me to have a hands on approach to helping people, something I feel is an important and often undervalued approach to improving people's health. Over the years I've had the opportunity to help countless people with their health via bodywork & energy medicine in chiropractic offices, natural medical clinics, and health spas.

Recognizing I needed to be well rounded in Natural Medicine in order to help others more efficiently and effectively, I continued my education. I attended and completed training in Acupuncture, Research Microscopy, Therapeutic Nutrition, Hypnotherapy, and earned a degree in Natural Medicine from St. Lukes School of Medicine. My clinical internship was spent at the Bio-Mechanics Clinic in Idaho under the supervision & guidance of Dr. Harold Klassen, N.M.D., a highly reputable Natural Medical Doctor. My personal responsibilities as an intern included Patient Care & Supervision, Hypnosis for Health, Microscopy, Oral and Intravenous Nutrition, Oxygen Therapies, Acupuncture, Bodywork, Energy Medicine, Bach Flower Remedies, and Homeopathy. Our time was dedicated to helping patients with a variety of chronic and acute diseases and disorders by utilizing blood microscopy to teach them about their cellular health and its needs, and creating & guiding them through a series of natural therapies and regimens to regain and maintain their health.

In January 2004 I married my long-time sweetheart Nicholas Holmes and moved away from the Bio-Mechanics Clinic in Idaho to Central California where Nicholas was pursuing his passion for Architecture at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. During our time there I worked at nearby Sycamore Mineral Springs in Avila Beach, California as a massage therapist. Just six months later Nicholas and I moved abroad to Denmark for one year, while he attended Architecture school in Copenhagen. We made our new home in the quaint old town of Helsingør, about 45 minutes north of Copenhagen by train. In Helsingør I connected with health advocates and taught seminars on Self-Hypnosis at the local health food store. One of my students was a Psychiatrist who invited me to work together with her at her practice in Copenhagen, to use Hypnotherapy to assist with her patients. This was a very successful partnership and I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to help so many Danish individuals, families, teens and children through teaching them Self-Hypnosis. I had the opportunity to encourage, motivate, and create new hope for those people, work that was very fulfilling and rewarding. Consequently, I was invited back to Copenhagen a couple years later and taught a well received 3-day Self-Hypnosis seminar to members of the Danish Board of Psychiatrists, helping to spread a better understanding of hypnosis and self-empowering, health-supportive relaxation & motivation techniques to a wider-reaching audience.

In the Fall of 2005 Nicholas and I returned to San Luis Obispo for his final year of Architecture School at Cal Poly and I returned to Sycamore Mineral Springs where I introduced Hypnotherapy as being a supportive modality to offer their guests. With Sycamore's support I worked as their first Hypnotherapist there. The next year my husband received a Bachelor of Architecture Degree with a Minor in Sustainable Development, and together along with our furry four-legged companion we moved from our home and work to travel and explore the Northwestern U.S. and Canada. Following our travels & research, we landed in Joshua Tree, CA where I created Holmes Health ~ Natural Medicine, dedicating my work to helping individuals, couples, families and communities utilizing non-invasive natural health tools & therapies. Nicholas also started his practice, Holmes Ecological Design & Construction, and actively does consulting, design and construction on numerous projects in the area and around the world, focused on creating comfortable & delightful climate-adaptive, resource & energy-efficient, healthy buildings & outdoor spaces. In 2012 he created Solstice Eco Building Supply, providing people with health-supportive, environmentally-friendly building materials & supplies.

In 2010 Nicholas & I had the opportunity to purchase a dilapidated commercial building & property located on Highway 62 in downtown Joshua Tree. Together, he and I along with the help of many hard-working people have been transforming that building & property into something special, a place we call The Nourishing Tree, a mixed-use Center for Healthy & Sustainable Living. Holmes Health has been based there from the get go. Other branches of The Nourishing Tree include Holmes Ecological Design & Construction, Solstice Eco Building Supply, High Desert Beekeepers Association, and an educational branch from which we offer presentations, workshops & courses about myriad topics related to healthy and sustainable living. We're grateful to provide nourishing goods & services for our local community and tourists alike. The Nourishing Tree is an ever growing project and we are pleased to work with so many of you, and experience this growth together.

Realizing we were going to need help at The Nourishing Tree, and thinking we had too much time on our hands (haha), Nicholas & I began to grow our family, and in October 2013 we welcomed our son Wiley to this world. Nicholas and I are enjoying the new depth and meaning Wiley has brought into our daily lives. We both say he is the best thing that's ever happened to us and we are so in love with him.

Currently, in addition to helping clients at my office at The Nourishing Tree. I am also offering Bio-Cell Screenings for health professionals who utilize the new research model in their work. I am co-founder, admin, and Bio-Cell Technician for Cellular Biology Research Institute, we enjoy calling CBRI. We are professionalize blood microscopists. We have identified flaws in the out-dated models of blood microscopy and developed solutions accordingly. Some of the significant differences of working with a Bio-Cell Tech verses other microscopists are; We have a standardized workflow, that allows proper science-based data to collect to preform analytics to prove our research, we have active collaborative research efforts, we offer professionals and clients a standardized Bio-Cell Comparative Report resulting from Bio-Cell Screenings that is easy to become familiar with, that they are using to track their health and protocols, and Bio-Cell Technicians do not offer other services, therapies, and nutrients. Our job is to observe, document, and report cellular conditions and markers. We refer those being screened right back to the health professionals to apply the report for betterment of health. I love working this new crisp clear model. I see it helping health professionals and it is rewarding to help one that helps so many. Great things are happening in the field of blood microscopy and I'm feeling privileged to be a part of it.

I believe we are all on this Earth together to support and help one another. Each of us, with our own talents, capabilities and resources can become more effective with what we do by working together. We ask for your support and invite you to join us and nourish yourself, your family, your community, and this planet we all share.

Nourish Yourself. Nourish One Another.
